  Getting around Taiwan is easy since Taiwan is a small island and has a well-developed infrastructure and public transport system making travel in and outside of cities simple and convenient. Here are some options for getting around:

  In addition to providing the fastest, most comfortable, and most convenient way around the city, these lines are dotted with a variety of attractions and scenic spots, allowing visitors to take a leisurely journey through some of the most attractive parts of Taipei.

  Auto ticketing machines in all MRT stations providing ticketing services as well as service counters. Single-journey ticket prices range from NT$20 to NT$65 depending on travel distance. A One-Day Pass purchased at any service booth allows unlimited travel on all MRT lines from first use until midnight of that same day while a 24hr Taipei Metro Pass (NT$200) allows the user unlimited travel on all lines for 24 hours from the first use. For longer-term visitors a stored value card (EasyCard) is recommended and can be used on all MRT and bus lines (Initial NT$400= NT$300 stored value + NT$100 deposit) and can be redeemed for remaining value and deposit when departing.

1. Hours of Operation: 06:00~24:00

2. To provide a safe, comfortable ride, smoking, drinking, and gum chewing are strictly prohibited on MRT trains and in all stations.

3. Cellular phone use is prohibited in the first and the last coaches of the train.

4. Tickets are valid on the day of purchase.

5. Pets must be in hand-carry crates, except for police dogs and guide dogs.
